Information

Mercy in You is a song by British electronic music band Depeche Mode published on their album 'Songs of Faith and Devotion'.

It is a purely electroacoustic function of the album that could as well have been a promotional single of the album, balancing throughout its duration the acoustic elements with the synthetic ones, which is why it is one of the most representative of what the collection was.

Despite being still an electroacoustic piece, it is also one of the most oriented to a DM rock trend with its persistent electric guitar sound retouched by samplers, a consistent percussion completely turned off, a somewhat traditional electronic base by techno standards complemented with a second base leading the main melody, closer to the typical grunge scheme for its lack of harmony sound, although both bases are somewhat relegated by organic elements. Actually, the theme has a lot of synthetic, but this is achieved by fusing with the acoustic element.
